I approach my work with the goal of documenting the rural and urban surroundings that exist around me. This is my way of studying and connecting with the environment wherever I have lived. In addition to providing my interpretation of natural and built environments, I strive to convey the fundamental elements of line and color. I am inspired by architectural drawings, and images that are "busy" with lots of visual information. The bare stripped-down quality of black pen on paper is very raw and I like that. I use only Sakura Micron fine point pens because they allow me to achieve clean, accurate lines while consistently maintaining their smooth flow. |
